[a forgotten southside icon]

On a recent visit to Minneapolis, we stopped for a visit to the Midtown Global Market, a former long-vacant Sears Building that has been smartly restored and invigorated with a full-time market that celebrates the diversity of its neighborhood.  It begs the question -- can we do something similar to revive our neglected Sears Building here in Syracuse?

  1. You will find that there are scores of great potential projects like the one you are proposing. But none will advance without a dedicated champion who will to do a fierce amount of work and invest their own funds who can also muster support behind them. A tall task.

  2. A tall task, indeed. I'm ever-hopeful that if we all keep introducing ideas and spurring conversation, somebody will be inspired to take an idea and run with it.
